Councils with 2026 Elections (134+2)

Note, the new East Surrey and West Surrey UAs (not listed below as yet) will elect shadow authorities in May 2026, taking over some powers from the old county and district councils immediately, and all authority from 1st April 2027. West Surrey will have 90 councillors and East Surrey 72.

All scheduled elections are now going ahead in May 2026, except for the outgoing councils within the new East and West Surrey authorities.

If trying to work out how many seats are up this year, don't forget to half or third the numbers for councils electing by halves or thirds, and to add 4 seats due to boundary changes.
